Who are we?
Mecho and Friends
Founded in 2023, we are a non-governmental, non-political and voluntary organization that speaks for those who have no voice. United by the desire for justice, we appeal for zero tolerance in cases of cruelty against domestic and stray animals, as well as for strict compliance with the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, in particular - the Animal Protection Act.
We work with institutions and civil society representatives to prevent violence against animals.
We encourage castration as a means of reducing populations.
We run educational campaigns in kindergartens and schools across the country. We believe that the love for animals is innate in every child.

We founded the Association because we believe that we need to fight the cause, not the result, of violence against animals. I believe that only with strict laws, working institutions and a changed mentality can we achieve real prevention and not count another year with numerous cases of murder and abuse of animals. Only with a strong and cohesive team can we make real change, and that is what I am trying to build.
